Growing Portraits and Studio 1608 are thrilled to present a two-part exhibition featuring over 40 locally and nationally acclaimed artists.

Part I - The Self

The exhibition begins with works that address the idea of self in all its forms. These may take shape as traditional self-portraits or move into more abstract, conceptual, or metaphorical territory. From literal likeness to inner landscape, each piece reflects a distinct interpretation of identity.

Part II - The Interactive Self Portrait

Alongside each artist's work, visitors will find a unique QR code that opens an interactive self-portrait, made with a beta version of the forthcoming Growing Portraits platform. Through these interactive portraits, viewers can explore each artist's creative world; their process, influences, and reflections shared through images, video, sound, writing, and more. These digital layers invite audiences to go beyond the surface of the artwork — to discover how artists see themselves evolving over time, and how technology can expand the portrait of self into something living, changing, and participatory.

The exhibition marks the public’s first glimpse into Growing Portraits ahead of its official 2026 launch.
