‘Glimmer and Shine’ at Wavelength Space, Chattanooga, TN
I’m honored to be part of GLIMMER & SHINE @wavelength_space, a juried group exhibition featuring 21 artists in celebration of Women’s History Month. The exhibition is sponsored by the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s Women’s, Gender, & Sexuality Studies Department and guided by the vision of artist and guest juror Ayo Janeen Jackson.
Opening reception March 6th
On view through April 3rd
854 McCallie Avenue, Chattanooga, TN
glimmer (n.) — a faint, often hopeful light; a fleeting sign of possibility; a shimmer that draws us in.
shine (v.) — to emit or reflect light; to manifest dignity, vitality, or presence.
This exhibition explores how radiance operates as both phenomenon and metaphor — how we reflect, refract, and reclaim light. Reflection becomes both mirror and method: a way of looking back through history, acknowledging survival, and recognizing strength. “Shine” suggests dignity, resilience, and the ways artists illuminate new paths forward through art, technology, and science.
Energetic Heart 5
34” diameter
Acrylic yarn, big feelings, forty thousand neurons firing, joy, radiant rhythm unfurling, and wool yarn
TheEnergetic Heart series explores the healing power of emotional connection. It is inspired by the concept of heart coherence—a harmonious state in which the rhythms of the heart, mind, and body align. Scientific research describes this alignment as generating an energetic field that radiates outward, extending up to three feet beyond the body and softly uplifting the surrounding atmosphere and those nearby—what many call a “vibe.” Each piece arises from my lived experiences with medical challenges and becomes a playful meditation on this unseen, deeply felt energy, understood as a kind of magical force
